so many other things i really should be doing!

first off- in response to the charge that i might or might be responsible for jess' new accquisition of whorish lingerie (her words not mine, i thought it was incredibly cute) for her bachelorette party i say remember back way back last year, before we decided to ditch our old nicknames and before i became the "prissy" one? back when we called jess the "perfect" one. yes, oh yes, that's right. what was my nickname??? oh oh oh oh oh oh.... the PURE one.... uh huh i was the PURE one. i rest my case.

anyway had a rockin good time in boston though incredibly short, didn't get to see anyone but family. thankfully my family spared me tirades on the body size and i even got a "you look good" from my grandma. was mucho mucho excitement regarding my engagement. if i hear one more "did you show [him/her] your ring" i might just vomit! apparently the dearth of excitement when i informed my family 2 months early was due totally on my part to bad timing. for future reference do not inform my family that you are engaged 12 hours prior to your embarkment to the desert as they are actually more concerned with saying there last farewells to you as they really cannot fathom why you are taking your prissy ass self to the middle of nowhere and really expect never to see you again. once your prissy ass self is back on familiar turf however is when it really kicks in. plus, really in the immediate family i am the last of my generation to get married and of the extended second cousins, i am the only second cousin in a very long long dry spell of my age group to show any intention of marriage [older hot male second cousins have been given up as hopeless womanizers, seriously each family reunion they bring a new, slightly younger blond, younger female second cousins have been given up as hopeless partyers] therefore as my aunt put it...we have to live this one up cause your baby cousin katie is getting married *insert very long groan from me here*

therefore if jess' wedding has been literally her mother's product, and well sandra's her nona's it is more and more likely that mine might be aunties as i all ready got my first lecture on my guest list contents. however i also think that i might stand a decent and healthy chance or not as my aunt rules my father. we shall see.

my cousin tina had a very nice engagement party for me that was suppose to be a surprise under the guise of a family barbque but as soon as we got there my baby cousin nate pulled me over to the counter to show me the cake.... and the cake was hilarious! it said HAPPY ENGAGEMENT! tina and i couldn't stop laughing. tina was like my bakery kind of had a problem, she was like i waited so long in line to get them to write on it and the lady took so long to do it and i finally got it back and i showed it to derek (her husband) and he was like well we could leave it the store, but then we'd have to go repeat the whole process again or we could just take it and run... and since they have 3 little ones under the age of 4 they took it and run and tina was like the check out clerk just kind of stared at derek before he put the cake back in the cart.

one of the engagement gifts that my family got me (and steffin) is a wishing well, kind of like a piggy bank but with no opening to take out the money you put in. the idea is you put money in it to save up for a special purpose, in my case our honeymoon, and then when you fill it all the way up you have to break it...that way your not suppose to be able to cheat and pull money out...anyway there was all ready money in it when i opened it and my baby cousins heard it rattling and came running up to see what it was and their father was explaining it to them and why they couldn't see inside of it etc. i put it back in the box and they run off. a couple minutes later nate peaks head around the corner of the dining room and he asks me "katie, where's your piggy bank?" and i'm about to tell him where it is when i notice that he's holding a hammer in his hands that he had fetched to help me open my wishing well with. i nearly fell off my chair laughing so hard. i love my baby cousins... i have four all four and under, soon i'll have five, but i am definetly not quite ready for my own babies yet, not sure how tina chases after her own three.

yay jess' wedding is just in a few more days!!!!!! it'll be so much fun! steffin's flying in thursday night!
have so much to do to get ready for him!
must go clean out guest room and move out all the stuff that i stuck in there from cooperstown!
booo!
